恭读圣保禄宗徒致格林多人前书 9:16-19, 22-27
弟兄们:我传福音,原没有什么可夸耀的,因为这是我不得已的事;我若不传福音,我就有祸了。假使我自愿作这事,便有报酬;若不自愿,可是责任已委托给我。这样看来,我的报酬是什么呢?就是传布福音时白白地去传,不享用我在传福音上所有的权利。我原是自由的,不属于任何人;但我却使自己成了众人的奴仆,为赢得更多的人。对一切人,我就成为一切,为的是总要救些人。我所行的一切,都是为了福音,为能与人共沾福音的恩许。
你们岂不知道在运动场上赛跑的,固然都跑,但只有一个得奖赏吗?你们也应该这样跑,好能得到奖赏。凡比武竞赛的,在一切事上都有节制;他们只是为得到可朽坏的花冠,而我们却是为得到不朽坏的花冠。所以我总是这样跑,不是如同无定向的;我这样打拳,不是如同打空气的;我痛击我身,使它为奴,免得我给别人报捷,自己反而落选。
Reading 1
A reading from the first letter of St. Paul to the Corinthians 9:16-19, 22B-27
Brothers and sisters:
If I preach the Gospel, this is no reason for me to boast,
for an obligation has been imposed on me,
and woe to me if I do not preach it!
If I do so willingly, I have a recompense,
but if unwillingly, then I have been entrusted with a stewardship.
What then is my recompense?
That, when I preach, I offer the Gospel free of charge
so as not to make full use of my right in the Gospel.
Although I am free in regard to all,
I have made myself a slave to all
so as to win over as many as possible.
I have become all things to all, to save at least some.
All this I do for the sake of the Gospel,
so that I too may have a share in it.
Do you not know that the runners in the stadium all run in the race,
but only one wins the prize?
Run so as to win.
Every athlete exercises discipline in every way.
They do it to win a perishable crown,
but we an imperishable one.
Thus I do not run aimlessly;
I do not fight as if I were shadowboxing.
No, I drive my body and train it,
for fear that, after having preached to others,
I myself should be disqualified.
福音
恭读圣路加福音 6:39-42
那时,耶稣向门徒讲比喻说:“瞎子岂能给瞎子领路?不是两人都要跌在坑里吗?没有徒弟胜过师傅的:凡受过完备教育的,仅相似自己的师傅而已。怎么,你看见你兄弟眼中的木屑,而你眼中的大梁,倒不理会呢?你怎能对你的兄弟说:兄弟,让我取出你眼中的木屑吧!而你竟看不见自己眼中的大梁呢?假善人啊!先取出你眼中的大梁,然后才看得清楚,以便取出你兄弟眼中的木屑。”
Gospel
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke 6:39-42
Jesus told his disciples a parable:
“Can a blind person guide a blind person?
Will not both fall into a pit?
No disciple is superior to the teacher;
but when fully trained,
every disciple will be like his teacher.
Why do you notice the splinter in your brother’s eye,
but do not perceive the wooden beam in your own?
How can you say to your brother,
‘Brother, let me remove that splinter in your eye,’
when you do not even notice the wooden beam in your own eye?
You hypocrite! Remove the wooden beam from your eye first;
then you will see clearly
to remove the splinter in your brother’s eye.”
