恭读致希伯来人书 11:1-7
信德是所希望之事的担保，是未见之事的确证。因这信德，先人们都曾得了褒扬。因着信德，我们知道普世是借天主的话形成的，看得见的是由看不见的化成的。因着信德，亚伯尔向天主奉献了比加音更高贵的祭品；因这信德，亚伯尔被褒扬为义人，因为有天主为他的供品作证；因这信德，他虽死了，却仍发言。因着信德，哈诺客被接去了，叫他不见死亡，世人也找不着他了，因为天主已将他接去；原来被接去之前，已有了中悦天主的证明。没有信德，是不可能中悦天主的，因为凡接近天主的人，应该信他存在，且信他对寻求他的人是赏报者。因着信德，诺厄对尚未见的事得了启示，怀着敬畏制造了方舟，为救自己的家庭；因着信德，他定了世界的罪，且成了由信德得正义的承继者。
Reading 1
A reading from the Book of Genesis 11:1-7
Brothers and sisters:
Faith is the realization of what is hoped for
and evidence of things not seen.
Because of it the ancients were well attested.
By faith we understand that the universe was ordered by the word of God,
so that what is visible came into being through the invisible.
By faith Abel offered to God a sacrifice greater than Cain’s.
Through this, he was attested to be righteous,
God bearing witness to his gifts,
and through this, though dead, he still speaks.
By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death,
and he was found no more because God had taken him.
Before he was taken up, he was attested to have pleased God.
But without faith it is impossible to please him,
for anyone who approaches God must believe that he exists
and that he rewards those who seek him.
By faith Noah, warned about what was not yet seen,
with reverence built an ark for the salvation of his household.
Through this, he condemned the world
and inherited the righteousness that comes through faith.

那时候，耶稣带着伯多禄、雅各伯和若望，单独带领他们上了一座高山，在他们面前变了容貌：他的衣服发光，那样洁白，世上没有一个漂布的能漂得那样白。厄里亚和梅瑟也显现给他们，正在同耶稣谈论。伯多禄遂开口对耶稣说：“师傅，我们在这里真好！让我们张搭三个帐棚：一个为你，一个为梅瑟，一个为厄里亚。”他原不知道该说什么，因为他们都吓呆了。当时，有一团云彩遮蔽了他们，从云中有声音说：“这是我的爱子，你们要听从他！”他们忽然向四周一看，任谁都不见了，只有耶稣同他们在一起。
他们从山上下来的时候，耶稣嘱咐他们，非等人子从死者中复活后，不要将他们所见的告诉任何人。他们遵守了这话，却彼此讨论从死者中复活是什么意思。他们就问耶稣说：“为什么经师们说厄里亚应该先来？”耶稣对他们说：“厄里亚固然要先来重整一切：但是经上关于人子应受许多痛苦，被人轻慢，是怎样记载的呢？可是，我告诉你们：厄里亚已经来了，人们任意对待了他，正如经上关于他所记载的。”

A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Mark 9:2-13
Jesus took Peter, James, and John
and led them up a high mountain apart by themselves.
And he was transfigured before them,
and his clothes became dazzling white,
such as no fuller on earth could bleach them.
Then Elijah appeared to them along with Moses,
and they were conversing with Jesus.
Then Peter said to Jesus in reply,
“Rabbi, it is good that we are here!
Let us make three tents:
one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”
He hardly knew what to say, they were so terrified.
Then a cloud came, casting a shadow over them;
then from the cloud came a voice,
“This is my beloved Son. Listen to him.”
Suddenly, looking around, the disciples no longer saw anyone
but Jesus alone with them.
As they were coming down from the mountain,
he charged them not to relate what they had seen to anyone,
except when the Son of Man had risen from the dead.
So they kept the matter to themselves,
questioning what rising from the dead meant.
Then they asked him,
“Why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?”
He told them, “Elijah will indeed come first and restore all things,
yet how is it written regarding the Son of Man
that he must suffer greatly and be treated with contempt?
But I tell you that Elijah has come
and they did to him whatever they pleased,
as it is written of him.”
