恭读德训篇 3:3-7, 14-17
上主愿意父亲受儿女的尊敬，且确定了母亲对子女的权利。孝敬父亲的人，必能补赎罪过，且能戒避罪恶；在祈祷之日，必蒙应允。孝敬母亲的人，就如积蓄珍宝的人。孝敬父亲的人，必在子女身上获得喜乐；当他祈祷时，必蒙应允。孝敬父亲的，必享长寿；听从上主的，必使母亲得到安慰。
我儿，你父亲年老了，你当扶助他；在他有生之日，不要使他忧伤。若他的智力衰弱了，你要对他有耐心，不要因你年富力强就藐视他；因为，对父亲的孝爱，是不会被遗忘的；天主必要赦免你的罪过，复兴你的家庭。你对母亲的接纳，必获赏报；天主必依公义，建立你的家庭。
Reading 1
A reading from the Book of Sirach 3:2-6, 12-14
God sets a father in honor over his children;
a mother’s authority he confirms over her sons.
Whoever honors his father atones for sins,
and preserves himself from them.
When he prays, he is heard;
he stores up riches who reveres his mother.
Whoever honors his father is gladdened by children,
and, when he prays, is heard.
Whoever reveres his father will live a long life;
he who obeys his father brings comfort to his mother.
My son, take care of your father when he is old;
grieve him not as long as he lives.
Even if his mind fail, be considerate of him;
revile him not all the days of his life;
kindness to a father will not be forgotten,
firmly planted against the debt of your sins
—a house raised in justice to you.
福音
恭读圣玛窦福音 2:13-15, 19-23
贤士们离去后，看，上主的天使托梦，显现于若瑟，说：“起来，带着婴孩和他的母亲，逃往埃及，住在那里，直到我再通知你，因为黑落德即将寻找这婴孩，要把他杀掉。”若瑟便起来，星夜带了婴孩和他的母亲，退避到埃及去。留在那里，直到黑落德死去。这就应验了上主借先知所说的话：“我从埃及召回了我的儿子。”
黑落德死后，看，上主的天使在埃及托梦，显现于若瑟，说：“起来，带着孩子和他的母亲，往以色列去，因为那些谋杀孩子性命的人已经死了。”若瑟便起来，带了孩子和他的母亲，进入以色列地域。
但是，若瑟一听说阿尔赫劳继承他父亲黑落德，作了犹太王，就害怕到那里去；梦中得了指示后，便退避到加里肋亚境内，去住在一座名叫纳匝肋的城里。如此，应验了先知们所说的话：“他将称为纳匝肋人。”
Gospel
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew 2:13-15, 19-23
When the magi had departed, behold,
the angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said,
“Rise, take the child and his mother, flee to Egypt,
and stay there until I tell you.
Herod is going to search for the child to destroy him.”
Joseph rose and took the child and his mother by night
and departed for Egypt.
He stayed there until the death of Herod,
that what the Lord had said through the prophet might be fulfilled,
Out of Egypt I called my son.
When Herod had died, behold,
the angel of the Lord appeared in a dream
to Joseph in Egypt and said,
“Rise, take the child and his mother and go to the land of Israel,
for those who sought the child’s life are dead.”
He rose, took the child and his mother,
and went to the land of Israel.
But when he heard that Archelaus was ruling over Judea
in place of his father Herod,
he was afraid to go back there.
And because he had been warned in a dream,
he departed for the region of Galilee.
He went and dwelt in a town called Nazareth,
so that what had been spoken through the prophets
might be fulfilled,
He shall be called a Nazorean.
